Nestled in the Indian Ocean, this island nation lies directly in the path of the annual pygmy blue whale migration. We’re taking this tremendous opportunity to offer participants a unique workshop with two options: a half-trip or a full-trip adventure.

Join us as we explore the eclectic capital of Colombo, before hopping on a beautifully scenic train ride to the sacred city of Kandy, which lies in Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle. Here, we’ll traverse the city’s historic ruins and film amongst remarkable Buddhist temples. Like most of our workshops, this is a choose-your-own adventure, where you’ll have the opportunity to focus on any number of documentary topics, from spirituality, to cultural heritage, to environment & wildlife.

2nd LEG - OCEAN WORKSHOP:
Blue Whales in Trincomalee
Feb 22-27, 2019 (6D/5N)
Ideal for: Intermediate - Advanced
Following our trek in the field, we’ll travel to Weligama Bay on the southern coast, which will act as our basecamp for the remaining four days. Leaving the shores behind, you’ll have the chance to test your underwater camera skills, as we dive into the ocean and await the serene experience of capturing rare pygmy blue whales on video. As we will be snorkelling, scuba licences are not needed, but you should be prepared to spend long days on a boat searching for whales.
